Vážené dámy, vážení páni

V roku 1978 bol založený Ústav pre výchovu a vzdelávanie pracovníkov lesného a vodného hospodárstva SR. Hlavným cieľom ústavu bolo zabezpečovať prípravu mládeže na robotnícke povolania prostredníctvom lesníckych odborných učilíšť. Ústav sústredil aj na celoživotné vzdelávanie pracovníkov v odvetví lesného a vodného hospodárstva.

Počas nasledujúcich tridsiatich rokov prešiel ústav výraznými organizačnými zmenami, ktoré odrážali spoločenské a ekonomické zmeny. Tieto zmeny vyústili do vzniku Národného lesníckeho centra – Ústavu lesníckeho poradenstva a vzdelávania Zvolen.

Medzinárodná konferencia má za cieľ zhodnotiť celoživotné vzdelávanie pre lesné hospodárstvo a vytvoriť možnosti ďalšej spolupráce v kontexte EÚ. Práve celoživotné vzdelávanie je významným inovačným nástrojom, zabezpečujúcim transfer výsledkov vedy a výskumu do praxe, a tým zabezpečuje rozvoja vidieka. Ďalšou významnou oblasťou pre lesné hospodárstvo je práca s verejnosťou. Je potrebné vymeniť si skúsenosti na európskej úrovni o jednotlivých nástrojoch a programoch zabezpečujúcich komunikáciu s verejnosťou v lesnom hospodárstve.

Osobne je pre mňa veľkou cťou Vás pozvať na medzinárodnú konferenciu, ktorá verím že prispeje k rozvoju celoživotného vzdelávania a práce s verejnosťou v lesnom hospodárstve.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Institute for Training and Education of Forestry and Water Management Staff of the SR was established in 1978. Its main task was to ensure youth training for trade & labour jobs in forestry through a network of specialised forestry apprenticeship schools. In addition, the institute also specialised in lifelong education of forestry and water management staff.

In the course of the following 30 years, the institute underwent a number of major organisational changes which reflected contemporary socio-economic changes. These changes resulted in the establishment of National Forest Centre – Institute for Forest Consulting and Education Zvolen.

The main objective of the international conference is to provide the assessment of lifelong learning and training in the forestry sector and identify opportunities for further cooperation in the broader EU context. Lifelong education in particular represents an important innovation tool to ensure transfer of research and scientific results into forestry practice. As forests are situated primarily in rural areas, it also significantly contributes to rural development. Another important area of the institute's work is public relations. At the European level, it is important to exchange experience from different tools and programmes facilitating communication with public in forestry.

It is my privilege to invite you to the international conference which, I trust, will contribute to the improvement of lifelong learning and public relations in forestry.
